It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our amazing father and loving husband, Doug.
Survived by his wife Arline, children Darla (Steve) and James, sisters Anna and Chia, brother John, and sister-in-law Jacie, he will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A rugged individualist with a heart of gold and the best hugs in town, he was a magnet to all who loved to laugh at life and themselves. He worked hard and played hard, and since 1994 his biggest passion was fixing (and flying in) the historic planes at the Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley; the challenges and the planes attracted him, and the camaraderie kept him there. A Celebration of Life will be held in the new year, for those who have a Dougie story to share and wish to remember one helluva man.
