It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Doug following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
After heading out west and running a ski shop, Doug launched into a successful career as a pilot. His passion for small aircraft led him around the world, but the thrill of west coast flying kept him close to home. Doug will be sorely missed by his second family, The Launching Pad, where he fully contributed his time and energy helping to change lives.
Doug was predeceased by his soul-mate and wife, Linda, his mother, Joan and brother, David. He is survived by his much loved son and daughter, Matthew and Meghan (Casey); his father, John, brothers and sisters, Brian (Carol), Ann (Chuck), Karen (Rick), Brent (Joan), Linda, Jim (Diane); mother-in-law Nan Arens, brother-in-law Brad (Carolynne) and many uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, along with his many colleagues and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 18th at 10.00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home - 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey BC, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Launching Pad Society
