Duane Paul Simpson

April 27, 2003

Passed away peacefully at home with loved ones at his bedside on April 27, 2003. Predeceased by his wife Maureen, March 2001. Duane is survived by his son Mark, daughters Holly (Scott Burnette) and Valerie (Ross Glays); four grandchildren, Haley, Jared, Greg and Alisa; two sisters Judie (Malcolm Symons), Deborah (James Duma); and three aunts, Irene Cameron, Bernice Livingston and Mae (George Munroe) as well as loving nephews, nieces and cousins. Duane was a person of strength and conviction. He was employed for over 35 years with the Federal Dept. of Agriculture, which took him to various communities in his native Manitoba, before he and Maureen transferred out to Surrey, B.C. in 1981. He was also an extraordinary hockey coach and player. His love for the game was well known and appreciated in the communities he resided in. He will be missed by all who knew him and those he touched with his quiet strength. A special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Derrick Lowe, the palliative care team of White Rock Home Care and Mila and her We Care staff. We could not have done it without you angels. A memorial service to be held at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 - 28 Avenue, Surrey, B.C. on Monday, May 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
