It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Ed Fader at the age of 82. Born in Vancouver, he moved to Ocean Park, B.C. with
his family in the early 1940's.
He graduated from Semiahmoo High School in 1955, and thereafter started an apprenticeship as a compositor (printer) with the Vancouver Sun. Later, he worked as a printer at The Columbian newspaper, the White Rock Mercury and then retired from Pacific Press as a mailer in 2000.
He and his wife Diana, of 61 years, were married March 30, 1959 and have resided in Ocean Park ever since. Ed had a keen interest in the history of the area and loved to share stories of his early life in Ocean Park.
For a number of years, along with other local residents, he produced the volunteer 'Ocean Parker Newspaper'. In his younger days, Ed played high school basketball, was shortstop for the Elgin softball team and later in life, organized a senior's hockey team at the White Rock Arena.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Zena Fader, brothers Stanley, Don and Herb and sister Dorothy Hislop. He is survived by his wife Diana, son Aaron (Tima), grandsons Aidan and Adam (Melanie), daughter, Julia Harnett (Neil), granddaughter Amy (Joe), grandsons Jesse (Tina) and Shawn, great grandchildren, Skye, Bailey, Lucy, Shawn Jr. Also his sisters Audrey Faddegon and Joan Kelly and nieces and nephews and their families.
Ed had a caring and generous nature. We love and miss him dearly, as do friends and community. There is no service at his request
