It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother.  Elaine, aged 87 years.  She slipped away unexpectedly, yet peacefully into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 with family by her side.

Elaine is lovingly remembered by her three children, Brent (Linda), Carrie, and Jody (Darcy), her seven grandsons, Cole (Aleisha), Carsen (Kerry), Brandon (Kelsey), Jordan, Justin, Brendon (Alysha), and Tyler, her six great grandchildren, Morgan, Ava, Piper, Max, Ryder, and Bennett, her sister Elizabeth (Tony), brother Tom (Lillian), and brother-in-law, Dale, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred, her infant daughter, Heather, both parents, Joseph and Ellen Deedman, and her sister Gayle Muhlenkamp.

Elaine was born and raised in Belmont, Manitoba.  After high school, she spent a year teaching school in Virden, MB before moving to Winnipeg to work for Great West Life.  It was at this time that she met and married her lifetime love, Fred, in December of 1948.

Elaine and Fred resided in Winnipeg until 1979 when they decided to make a move to the West Coast.  They settled in Tsawwassen until 1994 and then moved to South Surrey.

Elaine enjoyed a fulfilling career in the field of interviewing medical professionals for several Medical Research Agencies.  She was also an accomplished duplicate bridge player, acquiring her Life Masters.

Fred and Elaine were members of South Delta Baptist Church in Tsawwassen, and later Peace Portal Alliance in White Rock.  They spent just shy of 64 years raising and enjoying their family and loving each other before the Lord took Fred home in September of 2012.  Elaine's presence will be greatly missed by all those that loved her.

A celebration of Elaine's life will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 am, Northview Community Church, 32040 Downes Road, Abbotsford, BC

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
