BLACK, Eleanor It is with great sadness and loss that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother on January 6th, 2008 at Peace Arch Hospital.

Eleanor lived in White Rock for over 30 years and retired from the Great Northern Railway after 33 years of service. She was the first woman hired by the railway and she loved to entertain us with stories from her working days. She was a perfectionist in her knitting, sewing and handwork. Over the years she knitted beautiful sweaters for all of her family. She loved her family dearly and that is what she lived for. We will greatly miss her strength and passion for life. She is survived by her daughter Kathy, son-in-law Barry, granddaughters Andrea, Natasha and Tanya and Vanessa. Great grandchildren Sarah, Koal, Alycia, Katie, Rebecca, Jacob and Tianna. There will be a small private gathering with the family.
