ROSS - ELIZABETH (Betty)

Betty was born in Aberfeldy, Scotland, only daughter of Capt. Hector Ross and Mother, Phyllis. She was predeceased by three brothers - Wallace, John and Reyn Ross. In later years, she and her parents moved to St. John's, Newfoundland. Betty was schooled in England. Eventually, after graduation she chose to enter the Nursing School at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London, England and trained and nursed all through the last war years.

Betty was a beautiful lady who cared deeply for all her family here and abroad. She Nursed for Catholic Charities and later Vancouver Children's Aid where she left a wide circle of friends and colleagues.

She will be missed terribly by her companions of 55 years, Ruth Moore, with whom she shared many wonderful holidays and traveled extensively in the good years. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Marie Coffman, New Westminster, her sister in-law Bernie Ross in England, and her son, Lawrence; his wife Sheila, four sons and two grandchildren; also sons, Tom and Timothy, and two daughters. Locally, her nephew, Iain (Lennie) Ross, Nieces, Michelle, Megan and Rachel, Sons Callum and Eric and Niece, Tina Downey at Burns Lake. Family great nieces, Samantha Frisk, Jennifer Downey at Burns Lake. Family great Nieces, Samantha Frisk, Jennifer Downie, great nephew, Michael Downie, niece, Valerie Burrows of South Surrey and great nephews, Sean and Christopher Burrows. Betty will also be remembered by four great, great nephews and one great, great niece.

A memorial Service will be held at Church of the Holy Trinity at 15115, Roper Avenue, White Rock, B.C. on March 12th 2008 at 2 p.m; The Reverend Neil Gray officiating.

We wish to thank Dr. A. Chlebak, and Dr. L. Schuman for their affection and care of Betty. Also, so many thanks to the nurses and staff at Peace Portal lodge for their affection and care of Betty.
