Our Mum, Grandma and friend was taken from us far too early and though strong, we are heart broken. After a short but brave battle with a rare and aggressive cancer, Liz passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born in Croydon, UK, Liz was an only child born to Don Edwards (BEM) and Myra Edwards. Liz grew up in Portsmouth and attended Battersea College in London. She graduated with a teaching degree and taught Home Economics, where her love for cooking surely blossomed. Liz, then husband Phil with children Lucy and Daniel, immigrated to Canada in 1981, eventually settling in South Surrey.
Liz soon met many friends through Newcomers and weekly bridge games, many who remained dear friends.
Local residents finally got to taste Liz's wonderful home cooking when she started working at Picnics, a local catering business. Soon thereafter, Lucy followed in her mothers' footsteps and Look Watts Cooking and Catering was born. It was here she met Bud, the love of her life for the last 20 plus years.
The business was a success and Liz was finally convinced to stop working after her third retirement party in 2018. Liz loved to read, boating with Bud, sunsets on her deck and anything that involved a cold dry sauvignon blanc.
She will be remembered for her sense of humour, wit, love for family and friends and selflessness. Liz and mother Myra lived together for many years. Liz not only ran a successful business but was a full-time caregiver to Myra in the final years of her mother's life.
Liz will be dearly missed by her daughter Lucy and her family (Morgan, Simon and Max), her son Daniel and his family (Hana and Archer), partner Bud, and many dear friends from Canada and the UK.
