Elsa Lindstrom

August 21, 2005

May 23, 1917 - August 21, 2005

Elsa was born in Tomsk, Siberia but spent most of her childhood in Parnu,Estonia.

Elsa left war torn Estonia for Sweden and in 1949 Elsa, Ervin and son Thomas left for Canada. They made their home in Prince Rupert for the next 23 years. Here Elsa became involved with the garden club, a hobby she kept for a lifetime.

In 1972 when Ervin retired they moved to White Rock. Elsa's garden with the water front view made it a sight to behold.

Elsa, being a great hostess, entertained friends from all over the world. She was a member of the I.O.D.E. making quilts for children in the North.

Elsa was a great friend to all of us who adopted Elsa and Ervin into our families, always helpful and caring. She spoke 5-6 languages. Adopted grandmother and great grandmother to our children and grandchildren. Baked her famious Krum Ka-Ka to our delight.

She had the great sorrow to lose the love of her life, Ervin, earlier this year. She coped with her own health problems in a very dignified way. We thank the staff of Peace Portal Lodge for good care as well as Dr. M. Bassett and Dr. J. Gayton.

Predeceased by her husband Ervin, Elsa is survived by her son Thomas Lindstrom, her two grandchildren Susan and Danny Lindstrom all of Vancouver Island, her sister Linda Patzold of White Rock, her cousin Helen Denning of 70 Mile House and their families, and many, many devoted friends. There was a private service and in lieu of flowers donations in Elsa Lindstrom's memory, went towards a garden project for the Czorny Alzheimer Society, presently being built in Cloverdale (c/o K.Dohm-Smidt, 13595-56 Ave, Panorama Ridge, Surrey, B. C. V3X 2Z5).

Thank you Elsa for being part of our families. You are missed.
