Mrs. Emilia Tomascik (1930-2009)
of White Rock, B.C., passed away after a long illness on August 2, 2009. Emilia was born in Janik, eastern Slovakia and with her husband, the Late Dr. Teodor Tomascik, and their three children came to Thunder Bay in 1968. Married for 49 years, trained as a teacher and a nurse, Emilia worked with her husband in his medical practice for most of these years. She was a loving mother, devoted wife and dear friend to many in Thunder Bay and White Rock. Emilia is survived by her children, Suzanne (Boris), Tomas (Anmarie) and Vladimir (Dagmar) and her three granddaughters Alexandra, Brigitte and Coral, as well as extended family in Slovakia and Hungary. For the past few years Emilia resided at Westminster House, South Surrey. Her family would like to thank the staff of Westminster House for their loving care. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Church in South Surrey, B.C., followed by interment at The Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Star of The Sea Parish. While we feel a deep sense of loss, we find comfort in that our Mom is now reunited with our Dad and all her loving relatives and friends that have predeceased her.
