FARRIS, Eric Bryan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Bryan Farris on September 3, 2016 in White Rock BC.

Eric was predeceased by parents Nancy and Reuben, first wife Jean (Allin), brothers Les and Ron, and great grandson William Edward. He is survived by the love of his life Betty-Marie, children Rick (Cindy), Ted (Barb), Greg (Irene), Steve (Jeanne), Jeff, Shelagh (Rod), grandchildren Tracey, Neil, Tim (Melissa), Shannon (Ryan), Spencer, Fraser, Emily, Laura, and great grandchildren Harper, Sierra and Caleb.

Born in Lethbridge Alberta July 9, 1923 where he resided until enlisting in the RCAF where he served as a training instructor for Lancaster bomber pilots during the later years of WWII.

Marriage and family were soon to follow and he began his career with Hobbs Glass in Toronto. Eric had successful managerial roles in the glass and paint industries with stops across Canada including Toronto, Port Credit, Sarnia, Regina and Vancouver. Early in the 70's he changed direction, owning and managing a bronze foundry and custom metal fabrication shop, before retiring to the 'good life' in the mid 80's.

In the ensuing years Betty and Eric enjoyed wonderful winters at their home on Maui, cruises and adventures to many parts of the world, golfing in Bellingham, and great times with family and the amazing friendships they so easily acquired along the way.

Special thanks for the loving attention given in his later years by past and present caregivers including Bel and Beta, and the medical staff of Peace Arch Hospital.

A "Celebration of Life" for Eric is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers a thoughtful donation to his favourite charity, the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, is gratefully accepted.
