Gwynneth (Gwynne) Jevans


Born in England January 1, 1935, Gwynne passed away peacefully in Westminster House on December 1, 2006 after living with breast cancer for 8 years.

Predeceased by her mother, Edna, in 1999, she is survived by her father,

Fredric Gillott, and brother Michael of Nottingham, England.

She also leaves to mourn her passage, devoted husband and constant companion of 41 years, Martin of White Rock, son David and his family of San Francisco, daughter Helena and her family of Geneva, Switzerland, and her daughter Isabel of San Francisco.

After teaching for 9 years in England, Gwynne married Martin and together they travelled the world.

Her three children were born in Kuwait and she also lived in Saudi Arabia and then in Calgary from 1971 until relocating to White Rock in 1992.

Gwynne actively participated in Martin's many business and community endeavors and she pursued her interests in art, book clubs, women's organizations, walking White Rock's pier and promenade, and being a mentor to her 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank her many friends, Dr. Elizabeth Cant, the staff of Peace Arch Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the staff of Westminster House for their compassion and support throughout.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 12953 - 20th Avenue, Ocean Park at 11:00 am on Thursday December 21st.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor is suggested to any of the following: - The BC Cancer Foundation, The White Rock Hospice Society or The White Rock South Surrey Foundation. Donations can be mailed to 14481 Magdalen Crescent, White Rock, B.C. V4B-2W1, Canada.
