SYRNYK, Frederick (Fred). Sept. 14, 1926 - Feb. 11, 2012. Fred passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC. Fred will be greatly missed by his loving family: his wife Stella, his daughters; Evelyn and her husband Allen MacCallum of White Rock, BC and Teresa and her husband Paul Lebofsky of West Vancouver, BC, his sons; Murray and his wife Margaret of Summerland, BC and his son Peter and his wife Barbara of Houston, Texas; his devoted grandchildren and their families, Matt, Daniel, Michael and his wife Morgan, Tavis, Jennifer, Alexandra, Sonia and Jonathan; his two sisters, Olga Smith and Jean Korby and his sister-in-law, Mary Syrnyk. He was sadly preceded by his parents Nick and Mary Syrnyk, his brothers John Syrnyk and Mike Syrnyk and his sister Emily Holubowich. Fred was born in Ethelbert, Manitoba and spent his early life in Hines Creek, Alberta where he farmed, taught school and worked in his family's store. He moved to Dawson Creek, BC with his family and established the John Deere dealership and continued to farm. Fred was a loyal, loving and devoted husband to Stella. He was a quiet man whose acts of devotion to his family and friends were often based in the things he built and did rather than words. His family knew that this was his way of showing love. Fred was so very proud of all of his children and grandchildren. The associations through his years of working for John Deere and Manulife and his friendships made in the Rotary Club and his church brought much fulfillment to his life. The family would like to thank all his friends and family for their love and concern during his illness. They would also like to send a special thank you to all the staff on the Peace Arch Hospital ACE Unit for their loving and compassionate care.

His funeral memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00pm at Victory Memorial Park

Funeral Centre, 14831-28th Ave, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to Canadian Diabetes or a charity of your choice.
