Survived by Enid, his loving wife of 58 years, his brother Michael, niece Verian, and cousin Noreen.

John passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at Peace Arch Hospital after a long and valiant battle with amyloidosis.

John left his mark on the community both in business and through his volunteer work.

He was a longtime active member of the BC Mountaineering Club and Chair of the Book Committee which published the original 103 Hikes in Southwestern British Columbia as well as contributing photographs to that volume.

John gave time and resource steadily and substantially to various organizations dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and habitat.

John's engineering career took him around the globe as Chief Engineer at Mainland Manufacturing and later as president of CAE Machinery.

At his request, a celebration of John's life will take place at his home on the afternoon of Saturday, March 19, starting at 2 o'clock.
