February 28, 1931 - August 24, 2018
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Peterson on August 24, 2018, in White Rock, BC.

Glady was born February 28, 1931 to Anne and Erik Peterson in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She married Harry Timpson in 1945 and for the next several years they enjoyed running their own restaurants in Virdon and Brandon, Manitoba. Together they had 3 children and in 1967, the family packed up the old station wagon and made the journey from Saskatchewan to White Rock. There they bought and renovated two old houses on Marine Drive above the White Rock. When both houses burned down in a spectacular fire in 1969, they moved up the hill nearer to White Rock city centre. In 1996 Glady retired from the Surrey School Board office where she was employed as a receptionist for over 20 years.

In 2004 Glady married Bruce Shellard and they spent several years taking cruises and travelling before his death in 2015.

Glady loved to dance, and she enjoyed many evenings dancing the night away at the Ocean Park Legion. She had recently moved to White Rock Seniors Village where she was extremely happy. Thank you to the wonderful staff there that made her feel so comfortable and cared for.

Glady was predeceased by her husband Bruce Shellard, sister Evelyn Neuman, and her great-granddaughter Maisie Kroutil. She is survived by her children Trevor (Norma) Timpson, Karin (Chris) Blythe, and Vicki Timpson, her twin brother Robert Peterson (Jan), her cousin and good friend Tom Pilatzke, her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glady also leaves behind other family members and special friends with whom she shared many great memories.

Glady has requested that there be no formal service, but she would be pleased if her friends would think of her warmly while they enjoy a nice glass of red in celebration of her life.
