Gordon FULFORD

FULFORD, Gordon O.E. (Al) April 1, 1925 - June 11, 2004. Al passed away peacefully at home, after a wonderful day with family and friends. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother, he will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Madolyn, his five children: Jan, Barry, (Elzunia), Sherry (Merv), Wendy, Wayne (Wendy), eleven grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Cheryl, Julia, Jacqui, Nikki, Kristi, Karli, Keith, Nathan and Kaitlyn, two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Amber, sister Lorna (Les), extended family and many friends.Al joined the Air Cadets at a very young age and joined the army during WWII, where he met the love of his life, Madolyn. He moved on to the RCAF where he served for 25 years, working his way through the ranks to retire as Captain. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club. After retirement, he continued to participate actively and donated his time generously. Al believed in giving back to his community.Al had a great sense of humour and will be remembered by those who knew him for his practical jokes and fun-loving outlook. Above all else he loved his family and large family gatherings. Al enjoyed building model airplanes, playing cards, bowling, curling and horseshoes. He was an avid fisherman throughout his life. In later years, he enjoyed several fantastic fishing trips with his sons and friends. He has touched the hearts of many. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kindness and support. Donations in memory of Al may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
