July 4, 1936 - July 20, 2020
Gordon passed away peacefully on July 20, 2020 with his wife, son and grandchildren by his side.
Gordon spent 35 years teaching elementary school in the Surrey School District. He taught every grade from kindergarten to grade seven. After he obtained his Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education he spent the majority of his teaching career with the primary children. He just loved the little children.
Gordon was such a quiet, kind, gentle, very intelligent man and also extremely thoughtful.
All the family asked his advice on so many things and he was able to sort things out.
He is so much loved and missed by his wife Margaret of 59 years, son Kenneth (Susanne) and daughter Karen also his grandson Keagan and granddaughter Danika.
Gordon just loved his computer and all things technical. He obtained his Ultra Light pilot's license and also his Co-pilot's license so he could fly with his son Ken when he was learning to fly. Along with this he obtained his Pleasure Craft Operator's Card from the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron. He just loved taking his 14 foot catamaran out sailing.
Some of his hobbies were golfing, skiing, fishing, reading and travelling. Many trips were taken with very good friends that he had known for more than fifty years. When he returned from his travels he would make DVD's of the pictures he had taken and set them to music and give them to friends.
We will commemorate Gordon's life at a later date. To be announced.
If you so wish, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C., PO Box 3632 Stn Terminal, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 9Z9 in memory of Gordon.
