Gordon was born in Montreal on June 17, 1926 and passed away at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock BC on June 16, 2017. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Shirley.

He is survived by his sister Laura, daughter Gail, son Ken (Cathy) and 3 grandchildren: Meghan (Zachary), Stephanie and Amanda.

Gordon attended Westhill High School (Montreal) and entered the Merchant Navy at 17 years of age. Upon his return from WWII, Gordon started a lithography/printing business in his parents’ basement in Montreal, which grew into the very successful Gordon W Ross Ltd. Gordon continued his love for boats and water with the purchase of his own boat, involvement in the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club and many wonderful summers cruising the Rideau Canal with his family. Upon retirement, Gordon and Shirley moved to White Rock (1996), where he was actively involved in the Surrey Police Victims Services program. Gordon had 4 passions upon retirement: his family, his dog Toby, genealogy and wood carving. Gordon was a very proud man with integrity and a great love for his Country – Canada.
