After a long battle with Alzheimer 's, Gord Tabin has passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020. He loved to play golf and retired to White Rock where he played often for 20 years. Gord excelled in school and in sports. Whether playing baseball or lacrosse in his youth, or golf during his working life and retirement. Gord was a Chartered Accountant for Imperial Oil (ESSO) for 30 years in which he spent the last 7 years of his career as Comptroller of Syncrude Canada Ltd.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lynn, his two sons Dean (Amy) of Fort McMurray, AB and Kris (Cecile) of Edmonton, AB, and his grandchildren Mariah, Kelsey and Kevin. Gord was pre-deceased by all his sibling (Millie, Ted, Stan, and most recently this month by his sister Margaret).
Gord will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues for his professionalism and integrity (and his sweet tooth). We want to thank the staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton for their great care in his last month. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer's research.
