Known to all as Betty. Born October 2nd, 1916 – passed away September 27, 2004.
Formerly of New Westminster and Crescent Beach.
Predeceased in 1985 by her husband of 47 years, Stuart.
Survived by sons Martin (Judy) of West Vancouver and Jim of Vancouver, grandson Michael of New York City, granddaughter Sara (Lonny Koch) and great-granddaughter Kaela of Victoria.
Betty’s life was a celebration of music, laughter, generosity, community service, and good conversation. In her day she loved reading, playing the piano, gardening, ridge, golf, cooking and entertaining.
Betty’s first love was family, including cousins, nieces, and nephews. They, along with many friends will treasure fond memories of her in their hearts.
Betty served as First Lady of New Westminster when her husband, Stuart was Mayor of The The Royal City.
She was also the first Regent of the Elizabeth Kellie Chapter of the IODE which was named after her grandmother.
Her family would like to thank her wonderful doctors, nurses, caregivers and the staff at West Vancouver Care Centre. Special thanks to her personal friend, Susanna.
A reception to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at The Vancouver Golf club, 771 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam, on Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 1:00 p.m., to 3:00 p.m.
