Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 in White Rock. BC.
Kate spent her youth in Winnipeg, Manitoba and enjoyed many summers at Lake of the Woods, Ontario.
She moved to BC with her family in 1948 and resided in the Vancouver area. Kate moved to the White Rock area in 1954 with her husband Bill and young son Peter.
During those years, many days were spent strolling along Crescent Beach with her best pal, Huddy Roddan, with their young sons in tow.
Daughters Paula Christine (Tina) and Sue were welcomed in to the family in the years following.
Kate can fondly be remembered for her mnay years spent working at the White Rock Arena, never too busy to help an aspiring hockey player or figure skater tighten their skates...to shout encouragement to a young goaltender facing a breakaway...to dust the snow off of a fallen figure skater and applaud as they bravely continued their routine.
In her retirement years, Kate enjoyed her painting with the White Rock Paint & Sketch club and knitting and knitting and knitting with the White Rock Knit-Wit club.
Kate loved to spend time with her grandchildren: Stephi, Tiff, Michael, Emma and Joel.
Kate spent many enjoyable hours with her grancdhildren...playing duets on the piano, reading stories, cheering them on in their sporting endeavors, watching them bound across the stage in their dance recitals...or just sitting and sharing a cup of tea and cookies.
Kate is predeceased by her husband Bill, and survived by son Peter, daughters Tina and Sue and her grandchildren Stephanie, Tiffany, Ben Michael, Emma and Joel.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the Crescent Beach Kiwanis Village and the staff of the Peace Portal Lodge for adding so much pleasure and comfort to Kate's life in her later years.
At Kate's request, we invited all of Kate's relatives and friends to a gathering to celebrate her life,at 3:00 pm, on Friday, December 10th, 2004 at 13544 - 25th Ave, Surrey.BC
