November 20, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the extinguishing of a strong and vibrant light. On November 20, 2018, Halina Cowan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She leaves in her wake, the essence of her presence, her creativity and joy of life in everything that she touched.

Her passion for life, her love of people, her enjoyment of animals and artistic spirit continues to remind us to create beauty out of the ordinary and find meaning in small gestures and quiet moments. From her early years in Quebec all the way to BC, Halina touched everybody with her compassion, intelligence, humour and beauty.

As an avid competitive dancer, Halina expressed her love of life and beauty through movement. Forever a class act, it is her heart, stilled now, whose shadow continues to beat in the lives of those she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Bill and family and her brother Paul Janiga with his wife Claudette. It is a true tribute to the creative and passionate life legacy that even through our tears we must smile at the memory of our friend.

Rest in Peace our beloved Halina. So long as we remember you, you continue to live on in us.

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
