Helen Mika, aged 78, died suddenly on March 15, 2018 at the Peace Arch Memorial Hospital after a long and painful struggle with cancer. Helen was born April 1, 1939 in Skampe, Germany, the daughter of Paul and Frieda Franke. Helen's passion was truly her family and friends and enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
In 1968, she married the love of her life Erich Mika and on February 5, 1969 she became the proud mother of Dennis Mika. Helen loved her son fiercely and would light up anytime she saw him and called him every day.
Helen is survived by her husband Erich, son Dennis (Fiska), Grandaughter Amanda (Mathiew, Lincoln, Aubrey and Charlotte), Step children Barb (Chaz, Dave), Deiter (Julie, Craig, Tyler, Breanne). She is also survived by her brother Kim Franke and family.
She will be dearly missed.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 1:30 pm at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148th St., South, Surrey.
