Helen Holditch (nee Northcott) passed away peacefully, with family at her side, in White Rock, BC on Jan. 11th, 1918, at the age of 101.

Born in Milo, Alberta, Helen had a happy childhood, growing up on a southern Alberta farm with five siblings. She met and married Putt Holditch and  in 1941, they moved to Kimberley where they enjoyed over 40 happy years.

The couple raised two daughters, Barbara and Brenda, and were very involved in community affairs and recreational activities.  Helen was well known as "the travelling school secretary" for many years as she kept school offices organized in several elementary schools.

Summers were spent at the family cottage at Moyie Lake where they spent many happy times with family and friends. Helen and Putt enjoyed travelling, tennis, cross-country skiing, dancing and were active members of the United Church in Kimberley.

Six years after her husband, Putt had passed away, Helen moved to White Rock in 1988 where she readily made new friends and enjoyed walking on the beach, sewing, knitting and dancing.  Helen is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Archibald) and Brenda (Stewart),

5  grandchildren (Kathy, Colin,  Ronnie, Allison and Lindsay), 7  great grandchildren and 3  great, great grandchildren.

She was predeceased  by her husband, Putt in 1982. Helen had a huge fondness for children and was an amazing grandmother, loved and adored by all who called her "Mama".

Helen will always be remembered for her love of life, fabulous culinary skills, enthusiasm for dancing and music, and sense of humour which brightened the lives of all who knew her.

A huge thank you is extended to the White Rock Seniors' Village staff and Dr. Sandra Derkach for the excellent care and kindness that was extended to Helen while she was a resident there.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a yet undetermined date in White Rock, BC.
