Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on December 28, 1921 and at age 3 moved to B.C., with her parents and two older brothers, Bill Halliday and Nat Halliday.
Predeceased by her two brothers and her husband Howard Wintle, Helen passed away peacefully in Peace Arch Hospital on June 22, 2005 after a long illness.
Helen caught the attention of many people in South Surrey/White Rock through her passion for long walks with her white cane and cheerful, friendly greetings to everyone along the way.
Helen requested cremation, no formal service and that any donations in her memory be made to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C.
We wish to thank the caregivers at Ocean View Care Home and to those at Peace Arch Hospital for their kindness to Helen.
Helen, having no living kin is survived by her loyal friends Sharon and Gordon plus many other good friends and acquaintances.
