Henny passed away gracefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.
She is remembered and survived by her husband and their four children, their families of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, her brother and his family. Henny made the courageous choice to end her life with medical assistance and, while it is a difficult choice to make, her family is grateful for the opportunity to be together one last time to say their final goodbyes that many families do not have the chance to say.
She could always tell when someone needed help and lived her 75 years touching as many souls as she could, from patients in the hospitals where she spent her life working, to even strangers on the bus. Henny was honest and no nonsense right until the end.
Her family is proud that Henny had the courage to help herself and reunite with her mother and father whom she loved deeply. She will be missed dearly by all her family and everyone whose life she touched. There will be no formal service at Henny's request as it is not the end; Henny lives on in our hearts.
