June 9, 1943 - June 5, 2021
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Israr Ahmad beloved husband of Marita, father of Elaine (Paul) Andrews. He leaves to mourn, his brother's Irshard, Izhar, sister Farkhanda and their families, sisters-in-law Solveig, Lilian, brother-in-law Erik, and their families, his mother-in-law Margareta, many relatives and friends.
He was born in India in 1943 and moved to Pakistan during partition in 1947 with his family. He attended Rugby School in the U.K. and moved to Calgary in the late sixties, after visiting the Greatest Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede.
He began his career in the car business at a young age and eventually retired from it after running his own Chrysler Dealership together with his wife.

During his last hospital stay and prior to his death this is what he wrote:
To my dear loving wife, daughter & son in law, all my relatives and friends, work associates and business partners. My care givers past and present. I was blessed to have you in my life. I had a wonderful life with a few mishaps on the way. I lived life the best way I knew how never intentionally tried to hurt anybody. I helped as much as I could to anyone which was the teaching I got from my parents that was so nice.
In my world travels seen a lot enjoyed a lot. I learned to fly before I learned to drive. Flying instructor used to say no glider did not bounce to the ground you were on the controls so you did that. (Take full control)
First driving lesson started with advice: Remember there are three fools on the road. The one in front of you. The one behind you. And you're the biggest fool in between. So don't ever forget it. So when you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Make sure it is not the train coming at you. At my passing please do not mourn. Just celebrate the life and go.
Israr

Since he always asked Marita to look at the Sunrise and Sunset remember him with these words by Vicki Brown.
Look for Me in Rainbows

Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye:
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you.
It won't be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.

Time for us to part now, we won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Just wish me to be near you,
And I'll be there with you.

I'll miss you forever, I'll love you forever.
Marita
