VALLEE, Ivy Belle

June 8, 1922 - Sept. 25, 2009

With great sadness we say goodbye to our beloved Nana, Ivy Belle Vallee. Full of spirit and laughter, she will be missed by her adoring family: daughter, Heather (Peter); daughter-in-law, Mary Jane; grandchildren, Tim, Chris (Susie), Erin (Peter); Rylan; Chad (Nicole); Nathan; Brodie (Leslie); Tyler and Cory; great-grandchildren, Noah, Parker, Matthew, Olivia and Ben. Predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Lloyd; their dear son, Brian; as well as Lloyd's brother, Homer. Born 1922 in London, England, she met and married her Canadian soldier and, having survived the London Blitz they settled in Vancouver and later Ottawa; eventually retiring to Ocean Park. She was church secretary at Crescent United for many years; belonged to The War Brides Association; Ocean Park Seniors'; 240 Legion and volunteered at Camp A. She enjoyed singing and dancing in several local groups. Special thanks to Dr. Mike Nikolakas and to the caring staff at Weatherby #1. A Memorial Service will be held at Crescent United Church 2756 127th St., Surrey Oct. 17 @ 1:30 pm. For those who wish to do so a donation can be made to Recreation Dept. Weatherby 1, and addressed to Lou Scheffler, Director of Therapeutic Recreation, 15521 Russell Ave., White Rock, BC V4B 2R4 or dropped off at Peace Arch Hospital. A tax receipt will be issued from the Hospital Foundation.
