October 3, 1940 - August 25, 2020
One month shy of his 80th birthday, Jim passed away with family by his side at Whitecliff Retirement Residence in White Rock, British Columbia, on August 25th at 6:16pm.
Born on October 3, 1940, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jim is survived by his wife of 11 years, Louise (nee Menard), his three sons; Jason and his wife Shonna; Trevor and his wife Theresa; and Glenn. His eight grandchildren; Megan, (Drew), Bethany, (David), Paige, Russell, Lauren, Hayden, Jacob and Joshua; his five great-grandchildren; Elisabeth, Poppy, Patience, Skipper and Ezra; and his sister Diane Babienko (Frank). Jim is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Sharon (nee McCloy), his great-granddaughter Goldie, and his parents Peter and Mary.
Jim was beloved by his entire family and leaves behind a legacy of steadfast love and devotion as a husband, and as a firm and loving father, who instilled a strong work ethic in all three of his boys, and left them with a plethora of Jim-isms, which they'll continue to site to each other whenever they get together. Papa Jimé will be remembered by his grandchildren for his raucous play, his loud laugh and his schmucks.
As a family we have been blessed to have had Jim as our patriarch, his laugh will be sorely missed at all our family celebrations, but we take comfort in our confidence that he is with his Creator and those who have gone before him. Rest well Papa Jimé we love you.
Due to pandemic restrictions a private, family, graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made to Alzheimer Society Canada in grateful recognition of their assistance. Alzheimer.ca
