December 20, 1941 - January 6, 2021
Passed away at home in the Crescent Beach community of Surrey, BC on January 6, 2021, aged 79. Born December 20, 1941 in Zeballos, BC and predeceased by his parents Glen and Frances Lauck (nee Colvin).
Survived by sisters Shannon Gray (Jim) and Stacey Turner, nephews Jim and Darren Gray (Sarah) and many cousins and extended family and friends.
Jim grew up in New Westminster, BC and was an Education graduate of UBC, teaching at various elementary schools in the Burnaby School District for some 30 years before retiring in 1993.
For most of his working career Jim resided in the Glenayre subdivision of Port Moody, BC, near his two nephews, who remember him teaching them about biology, orienteering, swimming and even driving while growing up.
A voracious reader with a deep interest in science and related environmental issues, Jim was a lifelong supporter and member of the New Democratic Party. We will miss his strong opinions on the matters that he cared about, advocated for consistently, and believed in genuinely.
At Jim's request no service is planned, and in lieu of flowers the family requests the consideration of a donation to a charity of your choice.
