James William Stevenson

September 1, 1944 - September 15, 2022
James passed away at Melville Hospice unit on September 15, 2022 at the age of 78 years old.
He was born to parents Joan and Fred Hinton in Nottingham, England on September 1, 1944. His father fought in World War II and died as a result of his injuries he suffered in the war. The family moved to Canada when Jim was 3 years old and he was then raised by his grandparents.
James married in 1966 to first wife (Pat Busby) with whom he had 2 children David and Brad, and moved to WR in 1971 where he lived for over 50 years.
He married in 1988 to Joan Adamson with whom he raised his 3rd son Sam.
James worked as a machine designer at CanCar Pacific and Optimil Machinery until his retirement in 2016. He travelled far and wide and enjoyed life on the sailboat and in the RV.
James is survived by: wife Joan, sons David (Mitsue), Brad (Traci), Sam (Carolina), grandsons Matthew (Leiza), Lucas and great granddaughter Madison
Memorial service: Monday October 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Victory Memorial Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Ave, Surrey BC
