With profound sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Jayna. She was a treasured daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Jayna was a beautiful, kind, and gentle soul. She had a heart of gold and the best sense of humour. Her laugh was contagious.
She was always up for adventures but more important than that she was a genuine good human being.
Jayna's life has not been an easy journey. She survived leukemia as a child and coped with remarkable strength and resilience. She represented the Canadian Cancer Society as poster child. She braved through years of treatments with an indomitable spirit. She brought joy and love to our family and a lifetime of memories.
She struggled with addiction, but had many years of sobriety. Through all of her challenges, she continued to fight this disease. At the time of her passing she was sober and hopeful and the cause of death is unknown.
For too many people addiction carries profound shame, staying hidden and untreated. Jayna was deeply loved and we are grateful for the years we shared with her. She will live on in our hearts forever. We pray her spirit flies free.
