Jean Elizabeth Lawson

Passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Monday, September 27th at Mission Memorial Hosptial in BC.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glenn Lawson; her four daughters; Jean Anne Stewart of Abbotsford BC; Joyce Adele (Heiti) Muul of Wollongong Australia; Janice Elizabeth (Rory) Cook of Abbotsford, BC; Jennifer Elaine (Dale) Curtis of Port Moody, BC, her grandchildren Glenn and Sharon Stewart, Winnipeg; Andrea Stewart, Toronto; John Burritt, Dawson Creek, BC; Michael and Marisa Burritt, Abbotsford; Christopher Muul, Simon Muul, Timothy Muul and Sally Muul of Wollongong Australia; Lindsay Curtis and Amanda Curtis, Port Moody; and her younger brother John Gray (Joyce) McFarlane of Winnipeg.

Jean Elizabeth McFarland, daughter of the late Reverend Dr. and Mrs. Hugh McFarlane, grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba and completed her Dietitian Internship at Vancouver General Hospital in 1944.

She lived her married life in Brandon as an active member of the community, volunteering in various roles especially as a Girl Guide leader and as District Commissioner for 10 years.

A student of the Royal Conservatory, Jean was an accomplished pianist. Her favorite seat in the house was at the piano , from where she shared her lifelong love of music with those around her.

She was an avid reader and traveler and a knowledgeable bird watcher that loved the outdoors, especially, the lakes of Minaki.

A loving wife and mother, kind friend to many, crossword and tennis ace and chef of world famous Jeannie Buns, she will live in our hearts and memories forever.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral home in Abbotsford, BC and Brockie Donovan in Brandon, Manitoba.
