April 10, 2021
It is with sorrow that the family of Jennifer Dray advises of her passing in Surrey on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at age 84.
Jennifer was born in the UK, but came to Western Canada in 1960. She lived in Vancouver, North Vancouver and eventually moved to South Surrey, where she resided for many years. Her passions for gardening, art and following wild birds (especially owls!) were well-respected amongst her family and friends.
After the loss of her true love, Jim Thorsteinson in 1992, Jenny's life got a little quieter, and although she enjoyed the company of family and friends, we all understood there was a huge piece missing.
She was an active volunteer in the gardens of the historic Stewart Farmhouse, a keen observer of nature on Knowledge Network and was absorbed in watching eagles raising their young via the Surrey Reserve Eagle cam.
Jenny is lovingly remembered by her sister Pauline Buckley (Surrey, BC), her sisters-in-law Vaughn Lintott (Los Angeles, CA), Sandi Reynolds (Richmond BC), and her special "little brother" Ed Gilbert (Surrey, BC) and their extended families.
No service by request. Her ashes, along with Jim's, will be scattered in their favourite place.
