Joah Lee Atkinson

Joah, with her gorgeous hazel eyes, beautiful red hair and smile that brightened everyone's day, passed away tragically on Wednesday October 1, 2003 at the age of 20 years.

Joah's love for life affected everyone who met her. All who knew her loved her very much and will miss her tremendously. Joah grew up in White Rock, B.C. She graduated with honours from Earl Marriott Secondary School and was in her third year at the University of Calgary, taking Canadian Studies. Joah was a member of the University Rugby Team as well as the Irish Rugby Club. Besides rugby, she enjoyed playing softball and taking part in all different kinds of sports.

She will be remembered for her passion for life and great sense of humour. Besides her loving parents Tim and Cease (Karen), Joah is survived by a sister Lena; brother Lenny; grandmother Lorraine Schrauwen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Parish, 20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley, B.C. on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. A bursary will be established for the U of C Rugby Team in Joah's memory - for more information please contact Blake Chalmers at 403-247-3031.
