Barnet, John Robert. June 14, 1942 – August 6, 2011. “When you were good, you were the best we had.” – The Wire. The inimitable John is remembered by his wife Pat, his daughters Megan (with Wendy) and Alexandra (with Pat), sisters Ann, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Jane, a loving extended family, countless friends and co-workers, and the many students he taught during his lifetime. Join us in celebrating John’s life on Saturday, August 27th from 2-5pm. This will be a gathering full of wine, food, and (bawdy) anecdotes-the most fitting way to appreciate a man who was loved and respected by many; there will be a toast to John from 3-4pm. Contact:

for more details. Donations in memory of John can be given to Doctors Without Borders or the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
