On the 6th of April 2014 John left his health challenges from Lewy Body Dementia behind and pulled away from the dock for the last time.
With the care and support of his wife Dawn, sons Mark and John, and community, he was able to stay in his own home until shortly before he passed away.
Johns' greatest loves in life were his family, boating, fishing and having a cold one. He was always happiest when able to do all these things at the same time.
John received a paycheque from the Surrey School District for teaching something he loved. He shared his passion for History and Photography. His laid back approach in the classroom inspired many of his students to pursue similar interests.
He leaves behind a family that will celebrate his sense of humor, his outlook on life and commitment to putting family first.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held in the coming weeks.
