John passed away peacefully on March 10, 2008 at the age of 79 with his family close by. He is survived by his children Steven (Denise), Grahame (Lesley), Lorna (Victor), his partner Dee and his daughter-in-law Margaret (Neil). He will also be lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren and many friends.
John served 23 years in the Royal Air Force as a chief technician, retiring from service as a Sergeant. At the age of 48 he moved from Cardiff, Wales to Vancouver, Canada in order to pursue his love of fishing, golf and the outdoors and to provide a better life for him and his family. In his later life he continued his passion for golf and played regularly until the last days of his life. John will always be remembered as a witty, positive and loving person who cared deeply for his family and was liked by all who met and knew him.
By request, a simple memorial will be held (date pending). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society.
