Jordan Nicol peacefully passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital on December 5th, 2021 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his 2 sons, wife, and brother at his side. He was 52 years old.
Jordan was born at Royal Columbian Hospital and graduated from St. Thomas More Collegiate. He continued his studies at Simon Fraser University, earning a Bachelor and Master's degree. After graduating, he enjoyed working as a Senior Engineering Manager at Broadcom, Inc.
Jordan met his wife Crystal while working briefly in Seattle. He eventually moved back to Vancouver, BC and they continued their relationship, marrying in 2004. Jordan and Crystal have raised two wonderful boys, Connor and Jacob, in the South Surrey area.
Jordan had a deep love for his family and the Village Church community. He often shared many of his fond memories of good times and vacations with his late father, Ken Nicol, his mother Marguerite, his late sister Leah, and his brother Darren. His greatest joy was watching his sons participate in their various activities, especially track and field for Connor and basketball for Jacob. He lived for family vacations. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music (especially Pink Floyd), learned to play guitar, really appreciated Sci-Fi and comic books, skiing, mixed martial arts, enjoyed learning something new and challenging, being a part of coaching his sons in youth sports, and felt strongly about giving back to charitable organizations such as Salvation Army and World Vision, and volunteered with Loving Spoonful.
Jordan is survived by his wife Crystal, sons Connor and Jacob, mother Marguerite, brother and sister- in-law Darren and Carrie and their children Colby and Chace, along with parents-in-law Larry and Judy Whitney, brother-in-law and wife Greg and Lynn Whitney and their children Sarah and Ryan, and many other family members and close friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date when all who loved and cared for Jordan can come together safely.
