Joy Zyla (Burns)

Passed away suddenly in Vancouver General Hospital on April 1, 2003 at the age of 69. Survived by her husband Sid, children Wayne (Debbie), Helene (Dennis) and grandchildren Alana, Ashley, Stacey, Nicola, Kevin and Jennifer. She loved them all very much and was very proud of each and every one of their accomplishments. Joy was born in Australia and grew up in her hometown of Dapto, New South Wales, where she still has many childhood friends. She moved to Canada in the early seventies and started a new phase of her life. She made many new friends and loved being able to see and experience a different part of the world. Her love for travel was so strong she made it her career and worked for many years as a Travel Agent in Chetwynd, B.C. and here is Surrey. She used the opportunity to the most and traveled to many parts of the world. Joy met Sid in the early nineties and started yet another phase of her life. He shared her love for travel and adventure. Together they traveled in their RV to Arizona, California and many parts of B.C. Joy's other passions were poetry, art, collecting wood carvings and puttering around in her garden. A service was held with close family and friends April 4, 2003 at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
