Joyce is survived by her daughters Jo-Anne Laycock (Rod) and Lee Anne Bateman; her grandchildren Leslie Parent, Joel Laycock (Sarah), Lane Laycock (Tara), Meghan Laycock (Tim); David Lust (Karlie) and Deidre Lust (Thai); and her great-grandchildren Olivia, Cyan, Kayla, Marley, Esme, Greyson, Georgia, Quinten, Lunden, Asher, Ben, Paisley and Skye.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bateman, and her 10 siblings. She grew up in Saskatchewan, part of a large family. School was an adventure as the Fisher kids would ride in a buckboard to and from the Lanigan school.
Brisk and deadly-serious games of cards and dominos were a family tradition which Joyce carried forward and instilled in each generation of her family.
Joyce was always athletic, and in her 20s and 30s she played Ladies 'A' Softball with the Moose Jaw Royals, and Ladies 'AAA' Hockey with the Moose Jaw Wildcats (Dominion Champs'51).
Joyce was a member of the Hazelmere congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in the White Rock area.
Because of the current health situation, the Family will plan a celebration of Joyce's life later in the year.
She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Rest well, Mom (G.G.). Thank you for living a full and active life!
