Joyce (nee Griffen) passed away August 5, 2003. She was born and educated in Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased by her parents; Frank and Emily and her twin brothers; Francis and Ernest. Survived by her husband and best friend, Clive; sons; Kenneth (Jody), Bruce and Gordon and many dear and close relatives and friends in British Columbia, Alberta, England, Australia and Belgium.
Her family moved to B.C. in 1947. She worked for B.C. Electric, B.C. Hydro as key punch/data entry Supervisor where she met her future husband. Joyce left the company in 1957 to raise a family. She was a talented pianist and enjoyed the Cariboo, fishing, downhill skiing, Burnaby Rifle Club, Burnaby Lake Riding Club and her horse Rock Steady (Rocky). Upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to South Surrey, they joined White Rock’s hiking and walking groups and made many friends during that time. Later Joyce joined the Serendipity Cross Stitch Club and had a wonderful time with the warm and gracious ladies.
The family wishes to thank Doctors Larry and Niamb Darby, nurses and staff at the Peace Arch Palliative Care ward and White Rock Home Care Nursing Services. Joyce will be cremated and requested no service. Flowers gratefully declined.
