December 16, 1932 – September 23, 2022
Lancelot Ronald Beveridge, born December 16, 1932 in St. Boniface, Manitoba passed away peacefully at Deltaview Care Home (Dorothy Meadows) on Friday Sept. 23, 2022.
Lance grew up in Vancouver surrounded by family.
He learned how to water-ski behind his uncle’s boat and also enjoyed snow skiing spending time up at Hollyburn. Lance loved sports, especially golf. He traveled near and far (Hawaii, Scotland) to enjoy the game with his friends. He was a member at Peace Portal Golf Course for over 40 years and maintained lifelong friendships there. He loved to travel, and as a young man of 18 or 19, sailed to England to work at a summer resort in the South of England.
GG (great grandpa) as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren, taught in the Surrey School District for over 30 years, retiring at Crescent Park Elementary. Friends and family will remember his generosity, wit, frankness and roast beef dinners. He was heavy on the salt and the gas pedal but light on his feet.
The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude to the staff at Deltaview. Because of their efforts, Lance spent his final years in a safe and caring environment where he was treated with dignity and respect.
Lance is survived by his son Sandy (Tracy) and daughter Shoana, predeceased by daughter Patti. Left to wonder who will correct their grammar, are his grandchildren Nathan (Julie), Janessa (Clint), Michael, Ely (Martin), Courtenay, Justine (Robbie). He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren whom he would have lovingly teased at our loud family gatherings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Peace Portal Golf Course on Sunday, November 6th from 12:00-2:00pm
