Leah Rutherford Munro

It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Leah Munro (nee Garrison) on June 21, 2023. Nan, as she is affectionately called by her family, was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years Ken in 2012.
She will be forever remembered by her children Cathy (Cyril), Barb (Don) and Ken (Jolanda), her eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister Norma, brother Michael, her sister-in-law Diane and her many nieces and nephews, as well as all the dear friends she has made throughout the years.
Nan was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. When she was 18, she decided to move to Victoria, BC. It was there that she met and married the love of her life Ken. They spent most of their early years in the Victoria area raising their three children. In 1985, they moved to Langley to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Mom's devotion to the church was second only to her family. The church has been a very important part of her entire life. For the past 25 years, she was an active member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in White Rock.
Mom was a very accomplished knitter and it was not very often you did not see her knitting bag and needles within arm's reach. Her love of hand quilting is apparent in all the beautiful quilts that she made as gifts for everyone in the family.
Leah was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who always gave more of herself to others than she took from them. She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Peace Arch Hospital along with the staff at Melville Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Mom and her family.

The Service will be held Friday July 14th , 2023 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 15115 Roper Avenue, White Rock, BC
