Leonard LUDWIG

January 5, 2010

LUDWIG, Leonard Arthur

passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2010 with his family by his side. Born on May 31st 1918, he will be adoringly remembered by his loving wife of 69 years, Emma. He is survived by his children, Fred (Marilyn), Bryan (Carol) and Brenda (Jeff Harrison) as well as his grandchildren Lisa (Don), Trevor (Mayli), Jenny (Steve), Sarah (Derek) and great-grandchildren Madison, Ryan and Michael. A WW2 veteran, Len moved to the South Surrey area in 1968 after retiring from a 29 year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, and worked as a X-Ray technician at Peace Arch Hospital for another 20 years. Len will be remembered for his love of gardening, reading, photography, and long walks all around White Rock hand in hand with his wife. He loved to make other people happy, most often with music; playing his banjo or singing with his baritone voice. He loved to learn throughout his life but it was his family who learned from him as we are forever grateful for his lessons of patience, love and wisdom. Len's family is extremely thankful for the loving care he received from the staff at Crescent Gardens and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society. At Len's request, a formal service will not be held.
