It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, and Grandad, Leslie Albert Jones on July 7, 2021 with his family at his side. Born in Corby, England on April 8, 1943 Les met Patricia Smith and they married on September 5, 1964. They had 3 children Vincent, Michelle and Clare. Patricia's youngest brother Alan was considered part of their family and was a son and brother in our lives. Sharing in our grief are Vincent's wife Jodi, children Julian and Charlotte. Michelle's children Liel, Yarden and Shai Rubin, Clare's husband Darren and children Ella, Ethan and Genevieve Mahaffey, Alans' wife Joan and children John (deceased), Clare and Abby Smith. Also Wendy Newton and Les' sister Avril Lendzion and family.
Emigrating to Canada in 1974 we fondly remember there was nothing Dad could not do. He was a silversmith and made jewellery for Mum, a cedar strip canoe for Vincent, taught his daughters to waltz and built a gazebo
to entertain their Grandkids. A Machinist by trade he taught young apprentices at NAIT in Alberta and managed large fabrication shops in Vancouver.
Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Al Hogg Pavilion at Peace Arch Hospital for their care and support. The effects of dementia and cancer were hard to watch but Dad made it bearable with his constant smile and eyes filled with love every time we entered his room. Until we meet again you are always in our hearts and we will cherish our memories forever.
A memorial mass will be held at a future date.
