It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Susan Ewart of White Rock, BC. Linda was pre-deceased by her father, artist Peter Maxwell Ewart, and her mother, Susan Jane Ewart (nee Nickel). She will be remembered fondly by devoted family members and many loving friends for her passion for music, teaching, the environment, and all living things. A graduate of UBC School of Music in 1975 and an accomplished vocalist, Linda followed her love of teaching to enjoy a thirty-one-year career (1976 -2006) educating and empowering young minds at Simonds, Gordon Greenwood, West Langley, and Blacklock elementary schools in Langley School District. She leaves behind her sister, Sonia Bannister of White Rock; brother Reginald Fast of Ferndale, WA; aunt Katherine Hunt of Abbotsford, BC; longtime friend and accompanist Jan Farrell; and dear friends Beth Ainslie, Nance Charron, Jools Andrés, and many others. A special thank you to nurse practitioner Cindy Nordquist of the Heart Function Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital for all her caring support and compassion over the last several years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Linda Ewart’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon. A private celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
