Lionel Milnes

Lionel Templeman Milnes passed away peacefully on July 11, 2002 at St. Michael's Hospice, Burnaby, B.C. at the age of 90 years.

Lionel will be lovingly remembered by all his relatives and friends. He was born in Vancouver on July 25, 1911. After High School he worked for the Hudson's Bay Co., obtained a Teaching Certificate, but ended up working as an Orderly at VGH during the depression.

He joined the Canadian Army Medical Corp and served in Italy and Holland during WWII. After the war he became a guard at Okalla Prison Farm where he remained until his retirement.

Lionel was a Mason. In 1937 he became a member of Park Lodge #63 where he was Past Worshipful Master. He was also a member of Composite Chapter #24 where he was Past First Principal. As well he was a member of the Bellingham Chapter #12, R.A.M. where he was inducted into the Oriental Chair.

Lionel had a long, happy, healthy life. He outlived all but one of his regular coffee group friends, John White.

Lionel was a very intelligent man and was interested in so many things. There will be no service by request.
