Lorne passed peacefully on 14 March 2018 at age 88, with his family by his side at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC.

Lorne grew up farming in Steveston and learned early in life the value of hard work. He worked as a wooden box maker, steam fitter, pipefitter, and lastly a South Vancouver sawmill Industrial Fire Chief until he retired. He was also a master tinkerer who could fix anything and greatly enjoyed the local Interurban Train restoration which he supported.

In Gibson's B.C. while visiting friends, he met his future wife of 60 years, Margaret Grace Weal. They shared their love of the outdoors with their three children at their Gibson's cabin. Lorne and Margaret enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds in their South Surrey garden, growing their own vegetables especially with the John Deere tractor.

Lorne is survived by his loving wife Margaret, daughter Marie, son David (Remy) and youngest daughter Linda (Todd), 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

No service upon his request.
