Louise Alvilde Robertson passed away peacefully at the Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion of Peace Arch Hospital on Monday, November 12th. Louise was born to Albert and Lilly Gjertsen in July 1923 in Kvaefjord, Norway, and moved to Aldergrove, BC at the age of 6 with her family.
Louise cherished her family above all else. Together with her husband, Charles Benjamin Robertson (predeceased 2004), they raised a family of four children, Larry, Dale, Jo-Ann, and Luana on their acreage in Surrey. Louise was especially fond of hosting dinners for her family during these years and continued these traditions as her family grew and passed on the art of Norwegian baking to the generations that followed. Grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of joy for her later in life and she had a very active interest in their lives.
She will be remembered by us all for the special place in her heart that was always reserved for family and friends. Louise would like to especially thank Carol, Veronica, Eleanor and the staff of the 2nd and 3rd floor at the Albert Hogg Pavilion for their dedication and outstanding care.
A memorial service for Louise will be held at Valley View Funeral Home at 2 pm, Saturday December 22nd. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations please be made to the Peace Arch Hospice Society.
